LAKE HAVASU CITY, AZ (AZFamily) <\/b>— The Mohave County Sheriff\u2019s Office is asking for the public\u2019s help in identifying a man whose body was found more than 25 years ago in a cove on Lake Havasu.<\/p>\n

Authorities said the man\u2019s body was found by boaters on Oct. 7, 2000, in a cove about three miles north of Sandy Point Marina (now called Sandpoint Marina & RV Park). <\/p>\n

He was believed to be between 20 and 40 years old and was described as a white man, standing 5\u203210\u2033 with a mustache and brown hair.<\/p>\n

Deputies said when his body was found, he was wearing blue jeans, Reebok tennis shoes, and a t-shirt with the \u201cHot Boat Magazine\u201d logo on the back. He was also wearing a Casio calculator watch, had a utility knife, and a small flashlight inscribed with \u201cJKP.\u201d<\/p>\n

Investigators believed he had been dead for about one month before his body was discovered. Detectives haven\u2019t said how he died.<\/p>\n

In January 2001, the Maricopa County Medical Examiner\u2019s Office released a sketch of the victim, but that turned up no leads. Now, Mohave County Special Investigations Unit detectives are asking once again for tips in the case.<\/p>\n

Anyone with information is asked to contact the SIU unit at 928-753-0753 ext. 4408 and reference report 00-026283.<\/p>\n
