Goodyear Police were called to the crash involving a vehicle and an elderly woman riding a bicycle around 7 a.m. on May 12 near San Gabriel Drive and Elliot Road.

Police said on Thursday that the bicyclist, identified as 77‑year‑old Penny Orloff, had died. She had been hospitalized with critical injuries following the crash.

The driver did remain at the scene of the crash, police said.

Because of a lack of video evidence in the area and no witnesses found, police are asking the public for help. They said the crash happened during a busy school drop-off period in front of Estrella Elementary School.
