Man wanted for accidental double shooting in Green Valley

TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) – Authorities are looking for a Green Valley man following a double shooting on Friday, May 15.

The Pima County Sheriff’s Department said 61-year-old Clarence Bodiford is wanted on charges of aggravated assault and prohibited possessor. Anyone with information about Bodiford is asked to call 911 or 88-CRIME.

The PCSD said Bodiford was hosting a garage sale at a home in the 600 block of West Paseo Del Canto, which is near West Continental Road and Interstate 19. Bodiford was allegedly showing people a gun he was selling when it went off, injuring two men.

Both victims suffered injuries that were not life-threatening. One was released from the hospital while the other is still getting treated for his injuries.

The PCSD said Bodiford brought out a gun for the potential buyers to look at.

“Shortly after, Bodiford was handling the firearm in a reckless manner, leading to its discharge, which resulted in the two victims being injured,” the PCSD said in a release.
