COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KRDO) — A Colorado Springs woman is facing charges after telling police her husband had been dead since March, according to arrest documents obtained by KRDO.

Sheldon Wilson, also called “Shelly,” and her daughter walked into a police station on a Saturday afternoon and made the report, the arrest documents say. Wilson allegedly told police, “There’s no words for what you’re fixing to find out.”
Police describe discovery at home
When Colorado Springs police went to Wilson’s home, the records say there was a strong odor. Police found two totes inside the home, each with a garbage bag. One bag appeared to have decomposing body parts inside. The other was sealed with duct tape.
Records say there have been numerous calls to police from the husband’s family members over the past couple of years alleging that Wilson was abusive to him.
Wilson describes events to detectives
During the interview with Wilson, the records say she told police about her history of drinking and that she thought she had hurt him physically several times before while intoxicated, but did not know for sure.

She reportedly told police that on his birthday in March, she drank at least four alcohol shooters and woke up the next morning to find him unresponsive. She admitted to dismembering his body a few months after he died.
According to the records, when asked by the detective if she thought she killed him, she said, “I’m scared I might have.”
Wilson is facing murder and evidence tampering charges. She also told police she has been collecting her dead husband’s Social Security checks.
