PHOENIX (AZFamily) — The “America’s Got Talent” finals are here, and an Arizona magician is fighting for the win with the biggest act of his career.

Geno Ploeger is competing in AGT’s finals, which begin Tuesday with a two-night event. Ploeger joined “Good Morning Arizona” live from Los Angeles on the AGT set, prepping for his standup finals routine.
“Arizona’s Family was my first-ever live TV opportunity,” Ploeger said. “Now, we’re here at the finals of ‘America’s Got Talent’.”
Ploeger said he started magic when he was five years old after his grandfather showed him a card trick. He has done magic ever since, even teaching other aspiring magicians new tricks.
AGT gives contestants less time to prepare with each round and requires new material, according to Ploeger.
“Howie [Mandel] said in my audition that he wanted to see more of me,” he explained. “That has been my exact focus. So every single round I’ve been doing has been telling my story.”

Ploeger says he learned less than a week before the finals that he was moving on — an unexpected surprise for the rising star.
“This act has just been put together this last week, and it has to be bigger than anything else,” he said.
Voting opens Tuesday at 7 p.m. MST. Fans can vote through the AGT app, the website at nbc.com/AGTvote and the official AGT TikTok page by commenting on the voting post.
Each platform allows 10 votes, for a total of 30 votes per person.
“My fate in this competition depends on you,” Ploeger said.
