YAVAPAI COUNTY, AZ (AZFamily) — A lightning-caused wildfire that started last weekend in western Arizona is growing as crews search for ways to contain it.

The Campwood Fire sparked up about 5 miles northeast of Bagdad on Sunday, Aug. 23, after a storm rolled through the area, according to the Arizona Department of Forestry and Fire Management (AZDFFM).
The wildfire was mapped Tuesday at 176 acres with no containment, AZDFFM said.
Authorities said the fire is expected to grow along the south side as temperatures warm up. Dry conditions, high winds and desert fuels are driving the fire activity.
They added that the fire is moving along a ridgeline on Blue Mountain while backing down the north side into heavier fuels.
Overhead crews are looking for holding features and better access points to subdue the fire. Hand crews are looking to establish containment indirectly because of safety concerns, inaccessibility and rough terrain, AZDFFM said.

Crews are also laying hoses and sprinklers around structures associated with Wildhorse Ranch northeast of the fire.
