TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) – A Pima County man made his first appearance in court after being arrested on sexual exploitation of a minor charges.

Royce Fite faces ten counts and was ordered to be held on a $50,000 bond.
His defense attorney argued for his release to pretrial services since he has no previous criminal history.
According to the interim complaint, in January of 2024, Instagram reported at least one image or video of suspected child sex abuse had been posted to its platform by a user.
A warrant was served in September to a home where officers recovered a cell phone from Fite.
A forensic download of the phone revealed at least five images or videos that showed children “engaged in sexual exhibition, or engaged in sexual conduct.”
The document states one of the children “included a toddler aged child.”
After being made aware of his rights, the document shows Fite denied any involvement but confirmed the phone was his.

The interim complaint states in April of 2026, Snapchat reported a user had uploaded “at least one image or video of suspected child abuse material.”
A warrant was served Tuesday, August 11, at which time Fite confirmed the phone number that was part of the Snapchat tip was his, but denied any wrongdoing.
Fite’s next court appearance is scheduled for August 21.
