LAKE HAVASU CITY, AZ (AZFamily) — A boy is in critical condition after police say he jumped from the London Bridge into the water below in Lake Havasu City Tuesday morning.

Police responded to the London Bridge area around 8:50 a.m. after witnesses reported seeing the boy jump from the bridge, briefly resurface and then disappear underwater.
Lake Havasu City Police and Fire departments searched the shoreline and nearby water, while witnesses provided their boats for the search-and-rescue effort. A fire crew member then went into the water with rescue equipment to search the area.
At about 9:15 a.m., the boy was found underwater and unresponsive, police said.
Police and fire crews got the boy out of the water and onto a boat, where they immediately started CPR.

The boy was taken to Havasu Regional Medical Center in critical condition, Lake Havasu City Police said.
It’s unclear why the boy jumped from the bridge.
