AVONDALE, AZ (AZFamily) — Two people organized a predator sting that caught an Avondale man who tried to give alcohol to and wanted to have sex with a 15-year-old girl, court documents said.

The investigation into Xavior Vitela, 23, started in March when he found a profile through Yubo, a social media app for making friends, that he thought belonged to a 15-year-old girl, police said.
The two messaged on Instagram for months, and despite being told twice that she was 15, Vitela continued wanting to meet with her, give her hard lemonades and possibly have sex with her, court paperwork said.
Investigators said the girl’s profile was actually run by a 20-year-old woman and the sting was organized by another person.
Vitela and the “girl” agreed to meet on July 23 at a complex near 70th Street and Osborn Road, north of Thomas Road, and he would bring pizza and Mike’s Hard strawberry lemonade, court records said.
The pair behind the sting recorded the entire interaction. Police said Vitela arrived at the home with a pizza box, a white bag with alcohol inside and a backpack.
The woman who was pretending to be the girl arrived, and she and Vitela discussed eating and swimming. She touched his bicep as he flexed, police said.

When the second person behind the sting and two others entered the room, Vitela got his things and left, police said. The second person tried to talk to him as he walked outside.
Vitela got into a work truck and drove off.
On Wednesday, police arrested Vitela at his apartment near Avondale Boulevard and Van Buren Street.
He was booked into jail on one count of luring a minor for sexual exploitation, one misdemeanor count of attempted sexual conduct with a minor and one misdemeanor count of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
Vitela’s bond was set at $100,000.
