WASHINGTON (Gray News) – President Donald Trump created the Military Spouse Commission on Monday during an executive order signing.

The commission will work with military spouses to identify challenges and come up with policy recommendations for areas like health care, child care, housing, deployment-related support, and other issues affecting military families.
It will be chaired by the Secretary of War’s spouse, who is Jennifer Hegseth, and the president will name the executive director.

“America cannot have the strongest military in the world without the love and devotion of our remarkable military spouses who make the extraordinary sacrifices for our country. They really are extraordinary,” Trump said.
