TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) – For the first time, Tucson is part of the St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway, a fundraising event that gives participants the chance to win a luxury home while supporting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

The home, located in the Arcadia by Fairfield Homes community in Catalina, is valued at $950,000 and will be ready for its new owner when the giveaway happens Nov. 18.
The property features panoramic views of the Catalina Mountains, designer finishes and a room-sized Inspired Closet.
Subfloor signing marks milestone in construction
Workers and contributors recently reached a construction milestone, signing the home’s subfloor with personal messages for children fighting cancer, their families and the future homeowner. Daniel Aguirre, CEO of 3D Flooring, was among those who participated.
“It feels good to be here — it feels kind of awkward covering it up, but it’ll be here for a lifetime,” Aguirre said.
The subfloor signing is a tradition observed at all St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway builds, which take place more than 40 times a year across the country.
St. Jude Dream Home breaks ground in southern Arizona
Marshall Shawver of JMKS General Carpentry said the framing was completed in less than a week.
“We framed this house in probably three days — we had twice as many guys on it, so we got it done fast,” Shawver said.

The landscaping was designed to reflect the surrounding region. Rebecca Jacobson of Santa Rita Landscaping said the goal was to connect the home to its environment.
“We want to make it welcoming, embrace our Sonoran roots and really have the landscape work with the mountains and with this beautiful northern Tucson area,” Jacobson said.
Tickets support St. Jude families and research
Tickets are $100 each and go on sale Aug. 19. In addition to the home, winners who buy tickets early will be eligible for other high-end prizes. Tickets will be available HERE, and you can sign up for updates on the contest HERE.
Families treated at St. Jude never receive a bill for treatment, travel, housing or food.
St. Jude also conducts and shares global research on sickle cell disease, HIV, gene therapy and brain tumors.
