MAYER, AZ (AZFamily) — A man apparently decided that a rural Arizona highway was the perfect place to practice his samurai skills last week. State troopers were happy to remind him otherwise.

On July 24, state troopers responded to State Route 69 near Mayer, just south of the Prescott Valley area, after reports of a man wielding a sword in the road.
When troopers arrived, they found the man holding the sword and a large, black sheath, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
The man, whom troopers say is a convicted felon, was taken into custody on charges of disorderly conduct involving weapons and an outstanding warrant. He was not publicly identified.
