MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC/Gray News) – Tennessee troopers say a man has been arrested after leading authorities on a high-speed pursuit thanks to social media.

According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, the situation started when a trooper spotted a red Chevrolet Corvette doing a burnout in the Memphis area last Sunday afternoon while conducting traffic patrol operations.
The trooper initiated a traffic stop, but the driver, later identified as Devin Jackson, refused to slow down and took off at a high rate of speed.
An affidavit stated that Jackson was driving recklessly, running red lights and crossing lanes of traffic before ultimately disappearing out of the trooper’s sight.

A day later, authorities said the trooper took to social media to try and find clues on Jackson’s whereabouts. After searching, the trooper was able to find a profile linked to Jackson, showing the same red Corvette he was driving during the pursuit.
State troopers said Jackson was taken into custody after further investigation on charges for evading arrest, reckless driving, reckless endangerment, speeding and failure to exercise due care.
