BOSTON (WCVB) – A former nurse accused of sexually assaulting two teenage boys in his care was arraigned Monday in a Massachusetts court.

John Tam is facing four counts of indecent assault and battery on a person 14 or older and four counts of indecent assault and battery on a patient by a health care provider.
Prosecutors said the alleged assaults happened when the boys were especially vulnerable, saying they had both just come out of surgery.

Tam was released without bail Monday on the condition that he not work in health care and not have unsupervised contact with anyone under 18.
Tam is due back in court on Sept. 18.
During the arraignment, it was revealed that Tam has been charged in a separate case in Middlesex County. A charge of indecent assault and battery on a person 14 or older stems from an alleged incident in 2023 when he was a nurse at another hospital.
