CIBOLA, AZ (AZFamily) — A bridge crossing the Colorado River caught fire and collapsed Monday from a wildfire burning near Arizona’s border with California.

The Hart Mine Road Bridge in Cibola collapsed from structural damage, and parts of the bridge are currently in the water, according to the U.S. Department of the Interior’s Bureau of Reclamation.
No injuries were reported.
The bridge was burned up from the Island Fire, which was first reported Saturday night and has since spread more than 2,800 acres in western Arizona, according to Inciweb.
Multiple federal agencies are working to block access to the damaged bridge by installing buoy barriers and signs and marking off hazardous debris zones in the river.
Authorities are asking pedestrians, motorists and boaters to avoid the area at this time.
“With debris in the water and ongoing assessments underway, staying clear of the site is essential for everyone’s safety,” Resource Management Office Chief Chris Wallis said in a statement.

The small bridge was mostly used for farm-to-farm travel and refuge access to essential services.
Firefighters are working to contain the Island Fire that’s burning in the Cibola National Wildlife Refuge, southwest of Ehrenberg, Arizona, according to InciWeb. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
