The PCSD says detectives responded to the Pima County Adult Detention Complex early this morning, July 17, after a male inmate was found unresponsive.
43-year-old David Villavicencio had been booked into the detention complex a few hours earlier on drug-related charges filed by the Tucson Police Department.
According to a media release, the PCSD says Villavicencio was classified as combative and placed in a restraint chair after being combative during the booking process.
During a check approximately 90 minutes later, corrections personnel found him bleeding from the mouth and unresponsive.
