Man hospitalized after argument leads to shooting in Tempe; 2 arrested

TEMPE, AZ (AZFamily) — Two suspects were arrested after a shooting left another man hurt in a Tempe neighborhood early Wednesday morning.

The shooting was reported at a mobile home park near Apache Boulevard and McClintock Drive around 3:30 a.m. Investigators say a man and woman showed up at a home, but got into an argument with another man.

A second man reportedly came out of the home and began shooting at the man and woman, according to police. The man was shot and rushed to the hospital, but is expected to survive. The woman was not injured by the gunfire.

The two men who were initially inside the home, identified as 27-year-old Francisco Medina and 36-year-old Anthony Mikels.

Police say Mikels was charged with aggravated assault, endangerment and criminal damage, while Medina was charged with conspiracy to commit aggravated assault.

The investigation of what exactly led up to the shooting is ongoing.
