MARICOPA, AZ (AZFamily) — One person is dead and two others are hurt after a three-vehicle crash on a highway south of the Valley Thursday morning.

The crash happened just before 6:30 a.m. on northbound State Route 347, north of Casa Blanca Road, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
Troopers say two people were taken to a hospital, and one person died at the scene.
Northbound SR 347 was blocked for several hours while troopers investigated what led up to the crash. The roadway reopened around 2 p.m.
