Ray Ruiz and three members of his ADOT team found the woman after she had fallen into the canal and spent the night waiting for help. Ruiz and his team were able to rescue her.

Desert Financial Credit Union later learned Ruiz was a member and chose to recognize the group through its Random Acts of Kindness program.

The credit union surprised Ruiz and his three teammates with a suite experience at an Arizona Diamondbacks game. The group and their guests were hosted in a suite, brought onto the field to stand during the national anthem and watched the game with food and drinks.

Desert Financial’s Random Acts of Kindness program recognizes people who make a difference in their communities.
