Court documents state that a 15-year-old who was turned in to authorities by her mother was part of the group accused of destroying Kelly’s Produce.

According to court documents, the teen’s mother called Lincoln police after she identified her daughter as one of the alleged perpetrators in a video that was shared by the owner.

Lincoln police officers said they received a call about the reported vandalism just before 5 a.m. Saturday at the produce business.

Kelly’s Produce’s owner, Kelly Abbott, said she arrived to set up for the day and found jars of pickled vegetables and fruit smashed on the ground. Two food-display refrigerators were also destroyed, and various produce items were missing.

Police estimated the total loss at $5,232.

Police said surveillance video captured the group in question arriving in a red minivan and then damaging and stealing several items.

The 15-year-old’s charges include criminal mischief and theft. Two other juveniles suspected to be involved in the vandalism were also identified and located, with the last suspect, a 15-year-old boy, being taken into custody Wednesday.

Abbott says they are continuing to work to get the business back on track, cleaning up glass and restocking produce.

“This week has been insane … just trying to play catch-up because we’re trying to fill freezers that were already full,” she said.

Abbott also thanked the community for the support she has received following the reported damages.
