PHOENIX (AZFamily) — A man has died after a shooting involving the Arizona Department of Public Safety outside an east Phoenix hotel Wednesday afternoon.

It happened shortly before 2 p.m. in the Biltmore area near 28th Street and Camelback Road. Officials say the shooting involved a DPS detective, but other details were not yet available.
DPS says the wounded suspect was rushed to a hospital with life-threatening injuries and later died. No troopers were hurt.
