One person hospitalized with burns after house fire in southwest Phoenix

PHOENIX (AZFamily) — A person is in the hospital recovering from burns after a fire erupted in a southwest Phoenix house on Monday evening.

Fire crews were called to a house on Encinas Lane, north of Broadway Road and west of 75th Avenue, around 5:45 p.m.

When they arrived, they saw smoke and flames coming from the home. Some firefighters quickly battled the fire while others searched the house for anyone inside.

All five people who lived there made it out. One of them was taken to the hospital with burns.

Paramedics checked a neighbor, who did not need to go to the hospital.

No firefighters were hurt.

The five people will have to stay elsewhere as the house suffered severe damage. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
