CAVE CREEK, AZ (AZFamily) — A new fire has started in the Tonto National Forest northeast of Cave Creek.

The Kay Fire was reported Monday afternoon near Sears Kay Ranch, U.S. Forest Service officials said. The fire is about 25 acres and 0% contained. It is moving east-northeast, officials said.
“Crews are currently working on structure protection and coordinating with air resources,” the Tonto National Forest said in a statement. “Multiple values at risk.”
Five engines are at the scene, and additional resources are on their way, officials said.

Smoke from the fire is visible from nearby communities.
A portion of the St. Clair OHV Permit Area is closed. No evacuation orders have been issued at this time.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
