TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) – The Sierra Vista Police Department announced the arrest of a suspect following a barricade situation Friday night.

The SVPD says Edwin Batiste faces multiple charges that include aggravated assault and kidnapping.
The situation started Friday night about 8:00 p.m. in the 200 block of Valerie Lane.
Officers responded to a report of shots fired.
Police say a 911 caller reported her brother had been shot at a residence.
She responded to the address and took the victim to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
Police say officers arrived on the scene and ordered the occupants of the residence to exit. One man obeyed and exited, however, Batiste and another individual remained inside.
The Cochise County Regional SWAT team responded to the location with crisis negotiators.

The non-suspect individual attempted to exit the residence multiple times, but the suspect refused to let them to leave.
Police say the male hostage exited the home after about two hours and was taken to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
Batiste came out and surrendered about an hour later.
He faces two counts of domestic violence/aggravated assault, two counts of domestic violence/disorderly conduct with a dangerous weapon, one count of unlawful discharge of a firearm, one count of discharge of firearm at a structure, and one count of domestic violence/kidnapping.
