Man dies after being shot before crash in Maryvale, police say

PHOENIX (AZFamily) — A man is dead after being shot and crashing in Maryvale early Friday.

Around 2 a.m., first responders were called to Weldon Avenue, near 43rd Avenue and Indian School Road, where officers found a 48-year-old with serious injuries.

Investigators believe he was shot, drove away and then crashed near where he was found.

He was taken to a hospital, where he later died.

His name has not been released.

Police said they are still working to identify a suspect.
