Baby critically hurt after being left unattended in car seat, Phoenix police say

PHOENIX (AZFamily) — A baby boy is fighting for his life after being found injured in a car seat at a Phoenix home, according to police.

First responders were called to a home near 27th and Missouri avenues just before 7 p.m. Saturday for reports of an injured child.

Phoenix police said the 1-year-old had life-threatening injuries and was taken to a hospital.

Investigators said the baby had reportedly been left unattended in a car seat inside the house, and information from the hospital suggested his injuries were suspicious.

The Department of Child Safety was notified. Police have not released any additional details, and the investigation is ongoing.
