BUCKEYE, AZ (AZFamily) — Authorities are investigating after a man’s body was found floating in a rural canal near Buckeye Sunday morning.

Shortly after 7 a.m., first responders were called to the area of Southern and Wilson avenues, west of State Route 85.
According to the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office, firefighters arrived and pulled the man’s body from the canal.
It is unclear what led up to the man ending up in the canal.
The investigation is ongoing.
This is the third body found in water in the Phoenix metro area this week. A body was found Thursday in a pond in the Biltmore area, and another was found Saturday in a pond in Avondale.
