TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) – Park Place Mall in Tucson reopened after it was evacuated due to a threatening phone call on Friday, June 5.

The Tucson Police Department confirmed a call was made to the mall around 4 p.m. and said officers cleared the scene by 7 p.m.
The mall was evacuated as a precaution, and the TPD said it would remain closed until investigators could confirm it was safe
No injuries were reported, and no suspects were identified.
According to the TPD’s Real Time Event Tracker, at least nine units responded to the scene.
The incident happened less than four months after a shooting at the mall.
On March 18, two people were injured in a shooting that happened during an altercation between two groups of teens.

18-year-old Rene Anthony Bustamonte was arrested days later on a charge of discharging a firearm in the city limits.
