LITCHFIELD PARK, AZ (AZFamily) — A man who was armed and shot by police officers in a West Valley neighborhood early Thursday afternoon should survive, officials said.

It happened shortly before 2 p.m. at a home on Acacia Circle, a cul-de-sac near Wigwam Golf Club on Old Litchfield Road.
Investigators said Avondale police officers were at the house to carry out a court-authorized order for a 30-year-old man, whose name has not been released.
He was armed. Something happened, and one officer shot the man at least once, police said.
He was taken to the hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.

No officers were hurt.
Police didn’t say what the court order was for or if the man lived at the home.
Investigators said multiple officers were inside the house, but only one fired a gun.
No other information was released.
This is the 20th officer-involved shooting in the Valley and the 42nd overall in Arizona in 2026, according to Arizona’s Family records.
